However it is these qualities that make it an ideal present for the kid of someone you really, really don't like. I wouldn't give it to a fundamentalist Christian though, they might appreciate it so much they'd want to be closer friends.

This is a sweet telling of a difficult story in scripture. Isaac is well portrayed as a typical young lad with playful friends and a desire to obey his father. The dialogues are believable as are the characters, but they do not drift from the story so I appreciate the accuracy with scripture. This makes agreat story to read aloud and one that a child would enjoy over and over by themselves.

The Abraham and Isaac story is a difficult one for adults to wrap thier hearts around. I have wondered myself what Isaac must have been thinking. The book is written from Isaac's perspective. The love of his father is beautifully conveyed. The love of the heavenly father is evident.

The book is reccommended for ages 6-7 and parents should preview the text and pictures to make sure that their child is ready to handle this emotional story.
