We started reading "Llama Llama Misses Mama" after my daughter had a bad first day at preschool to facilitate a conversation about her feelings

We started reading "Llama Llama Misses Mama" after my daughter had a bad first day at preschool to facilitate a conversation about her feelings. She loved the story, but FIVE WEEKS into preschool she was still crying (loudly) for an HOUR each day. Her teacher was stumped because she was fine at drop off and for the first hour but then cried for an hour in the middle, refused to eat a snack, and then was fine for the last hour.

Books + audio for children. 1. Anna Dewdney Llama Llama Mad at Mama Age Range: 2 – 5 years Book + audio. Yucky music, great big feet. Ladies smelling way too sweet. Look at knees and stand in line. Llama Llama starts to whine. Does any child like to go shopping? Not Llama Llama! But Mama can’t leave Llama at home, so off they go to Shop-O-Rama.

Recommendation I recommend the book Llama Llama Mad at Mama for kids ages three to eight. I recommend these ages because a two year old might not get the content of the book or might not under the words; however kids older than eight are getting older and should be reading a little bigger books. I recommend this book to both genders, because the plot could happen to either a girl or boy.

We (me and my children) all like Anna Dewdney's IIama books. We love the rhythmic verse, the rhymes, and the warmth of the stories

We (me and my children) all like Anna Dewdney's IIama books. We love the rhythmic verse, the rhymes, and the warmth of the stories. The book is beautifully illustrated and it is a joy for all of us. As for other great books I also recommend Llama, Llama Red Pajama and the series of Rascal the cat (Why Some Cats are Rascals, Book 1; Why Some Cats are Rascals, Book 2; Why Some Cats are Rascals ( Book 3)). 0. Mama Llama did the right thing.
A lot of parents might frown upon the mama rewarding Llama Llama with an ice cream after he throws the "mother" of all tantrums in the store. Of course this type of behavior should be addressed, but as a parent, you know your child best in the world. I would estimate Llama Llama to be no more than 3 years old. I have a son this age, and I have been able to teach better lessons by exhibiting calmness, empathy, and yet still expressing that the tantrum cannot and will not continue, and that fun can be had if we work together. If I show anger...all he sees is anger, not a mama who wants to help him. If tantrums continue, we leave the store. If he can listen and calm down, there is NO harm in rewarding their ability to control their emotions. That's a GOOD thing and should be praised in small children, who are still learning about themselves.
Anna Dewdney knows her stuff. We love this book to pieces!

I don't really get the excitement about llamas, but my son loves this book!! He makes me say, "llama, llama that's enough!" over and over. When he starts acting out, I tell him not to act like llama llama at the shoporama and he straightens up. Lol!

We have a 2.5-year old who is starting to have more and unidentifiable emotions, so we ordered this book to help him see his behavior, and help coach appropriate reactions (versus acting out.)

This is our first Llama Llama book, and we really like it. It's appropriate for his age (decently sized lettering, clear verbiage. We got the hardcover, which is a good size for the illustrations to be clear and lovely.)

My daughter fell in love with the Llama Llama Red Pajama book. It was so relatable for her, and so cleverly written.
It has always been in our nightly rotation of bedtime books. But, I was getting tired of the same book EVERY night.
I was so thrilled to find this book, which is perfect for us because she's not the best shopper.
Dewdney's books take common toddler experiences and puts them into cute, easy-to-understand narratives that children love.
We'll be Llama Llama fans for years to come, I'm sure!

My little girl loves all the llama llama books. I think this one has really helped her realize that everyone has rough days, but we can always turn them around. It really helps children when they see a character that is familiar go through all the day to days they experience... Super cute and relatable for my little minx!

This book is fun to read for adults and rings pretty true to my wife and my recollection of our childhood experiences being dragged along for shopping trips! The illustrations are well done. My ONE complaint to Amazon is that the first page of the book was bent and creased significantly. It is not a deal breaker by any means but, work on your quality control please. If this was a page in the middle of the book I definitely would have sent it back.

In general, my daughter loves the Llama Llama books. I also love that they generally deal with real situations I have with my daughter and it demonstrates better behavior and that Mom is always there for her.

My one tiny issue with this book is the shoes! For some reason the shopping trip is about buying shoes and socks, but NONE of the other characters/animals ever wear shoes in this book, let alone the others in the series. We never see Llama in shoes in any other book. What the heck is going on here?!
We love Llama Llama books in our house. Fun rhymes that are easy to act out and remember. The stories are easy for even the littlest kids to understand. Also, great for teaching emotions. Both our kids have autism and Anna Dewdney books have been a great resource for us.
