A very cute and simple story about a young pup named Lucas who happily helps his father prepare for Christmas in his father's bakery in their village of San Vitale. One day after lots of hard labor, the bakery's well-beloved Christmas cakes go missing and Lucas comes to find that a miserable bear named Otto (who's a woodcutter) has taken them because he is very unhappy and wants nothing but pure sadness to come to the villagers because of his misery. As the story goes on, it's revealed that Otto is very lonely especially around Christmas and that he has horrible stomach pain. It's then that Lucas decides to make Otto feel better by taking great care of him. So, Lucas sends Otto to bed and makes him some very yummy and tasty hot soup with some very special ingredients that will help Otto's tummy feel much better. Otto then returns the kind-hearted favor by happily helping Lucas and his father bake and sell even more Christmas cakes for the villagers. An enjoyable and highly friendly tale with a kind-hearted message that most children as young as seven should be able to enjoy. Again recommended for most children ages seven and up.
