Judith Kerr is a national treasure. One of the nation's favourite children's authors, her stories following Mog the forgetful cat on a series of gentle adventures have delighted generations since her first appearance in 1970. This collection brings together 10 of her finest books. Mog is everyone's favourite family pet and throughout these stories she makes friends with a beautiful baby; takes a trip to the vet; and enjoys a cracking Christmas caper  .

Mog and the Baby book. When I was little I had Mog’s Christmas, and it was a favourite during the holiday season. This is the third book in the Mog series by Judith Kerr. Mog was depicted as quite the typical cat: grumpy, self-centred and always causing trouble. But the pictures were cute, and the story fun, and I loved Mog’s Christmas. In Mog and the Baby, a young mother struggling to juggle the care of a baby and the running of a household wants a couple of hours to do some shopping. Is that so much to ask?

Mog is a fictional character in a series of children's books written by Judith Kerr. Other regularly occurring characters include Mr and Mrs Thomas (Mog's owners) and their two children Nicky and Debbie. In each book Mog gets into a different conundrum with a new character or event. Unusually for a popular children's series, Mog dies in the final book, 2002's Goodbye, Mog.

Mog and the baby is a great book to read.I've read it quite a lot because it's that good. The author is Judith Kerr who has written a lot of books about Mog because Mog is her cat.The first time I read this I was amazed with the pictures because the expresions on Mog's face were amazing. My favorite character was the baby because every time she went psssss. The aby made me feel happy all through the story especialy when she went psssss. In Mog and the baby the baby want's Mog to play with Mog but Mog doesent want to play with the baby so she runs off.It was really fun to read because you would think that the baby was going to get run over but Mog saves her.I enjoyed reading this book because it was very funny and lovely. My favorite part was when Mog was in the pram being pushed around.I would definatley recomend this brilliant book to everyone.i would give this book 4/5 stars because Judith Kerr could of put in more detail.

This is a HORRIBLE book!!! Why would you take your baby to be looked after by someone who is at home nursing there own sick kid? Plus she is the worst babysitter EVER!!! First she doesn't pay attention enough to notice that the baby is eating the cat's fish. Then she doesn't notice that the baby follows the cat out the window and into traffic. Then after the baby is saved from being run over, by the cat no less, she comes out to the commotion to serve her husband, who was the one to almost run the baby over, a cup of tea. Then the kids convince the baby's mother that the cat is a hero and deserves a reward and she obliges. The 'grateful' mother says "Mog saved my baby from being run over," and the woman who was supposed to be looking after her says "I told you, Mog loves babies " and everyone has a smile on their face. If I left my kid in the cat's of someone and found that they were negligent enough to let the baby run out into traffic, I would be PISSED!!!! and if I had been the one to make the mistake of letting the baby out (which I would never do) then I would be apologetic and definitely not preoccupied with serving anyone tea. Ridiculous book!!!!

Oh my, I cannot believe the earlier review that reviles this book. Clearly someone without a sense of humor who takes things far, far too seriously. I first discovered (and bought) this book in 1982 on a visit to England. I thought the illustrations were wonderful and the story hysterical. Everyone I've shown it too (adult) or read it to (child) has loved itthis book. I just watched the 2015 Sainsbury's commercial with Mog the Cat, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. And then I got to wondering if there were any Mog books available on Amazon, and here I am, trying to decide which one/s to buy. At least I already have this one, still treasured at age 59+!
