I was born on Paradise Island.

I come to share a message of peace and justice.

I can fly like an eagle and ward off danger with the power of my silver bracelets.

Bad guys, beware my Golden Lasso of Truth.

I am Wonder Woman!

This book tells the origin story of Wonder Woman in a way appropriate for very young kids. It's at the reading level of a Disney princess book, but Diana feels like a much healthier story for young girls. She's strong; she's caring; she feels a responsibility not only to her people but to the wider world.

The book has no fighting, and Wonder Woman herself is drawn more chastely than in traditional comics.
It had a lower reading level than I expected.
This book is a perfect way to introduce young girls to Wonder Woman! Wonder Woman is a terrific role model (she doesn't look like a Barbie doll in this book) and my girls LOVE the story. It is simple and just the right speed for this reading level. The pictures are well done and engaging. We love reading this book and my girls ask for it every night! It's also great for beginning readers because they want to read the story themselves.
