I got this book for my granddaughter in honor of her starting kindergarten this year. It's a great book and when I went to visit we read it at least three times the first day after she got it in the mail! She loves the book and it reminds her of how much fun she has in kindergarten!

it is a swell fun kids book for the same reasons but i cannot tell you how many copies have been through of this book. i give it as gifts, keep several in my office and one in my car, you never know when its the perfect gift.
did i mention how much i LOVE and appreciate this book
the illustrations are so enjoyable, and the message of trying again (normalizing how we all make mistakes) great self care and self acceptance.
I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!

Positive messages without the schmaltz of other feelsy books. I wanted the art to be a bit more jujjed than it was, but the message trumped that. Great for kids, young and old. Because sometimes someone you love needs a colorful boost.

One type of reader this book is great for are those who have great imaginings but very few friends for whatever reason. Through this book, we learn we can be our own best friend through self-love and self-awareness. It would also be great for introverts and people with chronic illness or sadness. The main character seems to believe it's possible to be alone without lonely, and I like that.

This book isn't a book about ego, it is an amazing "teachable moment!" It is very basic and very short. Unfortunetally, I think anything above 2nd grade is pushing it but that's not to say it can't be used in a less direct way with older grades. The cute pic loves her "round tummy," but takes care of herself by brushing her teeth and eating healthy etc. She picks herself up when she falls, cheers herself up when she's sad, and tries again when she makes mistakes. The ONLY thing missing is something about not caring about what other people think. I still highly recommend this book for all teachers and parents!!

I bought this for my nieces. While it seems to make all children happy when someone reads a cute story to them my nieces seem to really enjoy this book. How do I know they like this book so much? They are attentive, they smile, they laugh and they hug. What's more precious than that?

As a mom I love reading this book to my children. The story is cute and the pictures are entertaining.

As a preschool teacher I love to read this book to my students all the time especially when I teach about self-esteem. It teaches the kids about liking themselves.

My absolute favorite line is "I get up in the morning and say 'hi good looking'

I love this book for young girls. It emphasizes the importance of loving who you are, and also encourages them to be strong. Several pages that come to mind: "When I am sad, I cheer myself up"; "when I fall down, I pick myself back up"; "I love my round tummy, my curly tail, etc" Big messages delivered in a wonderfully simple way. :)
I have always loved this book! Wonderful messages for self-esteem, and practical lessons for future happiness.

I read it to my daughter throughout her childhood, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a positive and fun reading experience for very young girls.
