This is part of a series of books each of which explores a different theme, using photographs of "mystery" objects from the 1900s, 1930s and 1960s. The reader is encouraged to look at the object in the photograph and guess what it might be, and then turn the page to find a detailed colour illustration of a scene in which the object is being used, with a simple text giving more information. This title is concerned with streets, from gas lamps to electric street lighting, from police call boxes to police radios, looking at how streets have changed over the past 100 years.
