My daughter speaks French, well limited, but still pretty good, and we were trying to find a way to have her teach her twins French. this is the perfect way, as you just sit, for a limited time, and pronounce each work as you would English. Now when they point to their heads, they say tete (I think that is the way you spell it.) I am going to buy more of these for my other grandchildren.

There are many many many "first hundred words book" on the market and the vast majority of them are pretty rotten (my husband and I found a hilarious one with things like "emperor penguin and bald eagle included as "first words"). This one is probably one of the best we came across. The book follows a family around as they do various things during the day. Each event is two pages and the words with pictures are at the bottom. One page is eating breakfast and there are the words for breakfast items. There's shopping, going to a party, visiting grandma, and so on. In each picture the little yellow duck is hiding and my son loves finding the duck.

Its a cute book with charming pictures and I did not mind reading it hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of times.

This French dictionary picture book is perfect for the younger elementary age. I love Stephen Cartwright pictures - always a lot of action on each page. I like that it has the pronunciation of each word in the back of the book. It only has a basic vocabulary - less than 10 words per page and the numbers go only up to 10. If you want something with more vocabulary, I would suggest USBORNES first 1000 words in French.

I love this book. I bought it for my children and have just bought the new versions for my grandchildren. The illustrations are delightful.

The book is a good book, the problem is that after 17 days I am still waiting for the book to arrive. Tried to contact the seller, but the response I got was 'Your e-mail(s) to awesomebooksusa ([email protected]) cannot be delivered because there was a problem with the recipient's email system'. So this is the only way I can think of to get the seller's attention. I would give zero star if it is a option.

This is a delightful book! The pictures are darling, and the selection of basic vocabulary words is perfect for a young reader learning a new language. I especially like the pronunciation guide in back of the book. It can really help parents/caregivers along in correct pronunciation. There's also a little "find the duck" game on each page that adds to the fun. If you're interested in teaching a young child French, this is a great starter book.
