Emily Gravett does beautiful work and this is one of her younger and less quirky titles. I bought this book for a 'Dog Person' I know who happens to also be a writer. I know she will love Gravett's charming illustrations. Arrived quickly and as described.

Emily Gravett, Dogs (Simon and Schuster, 2009) I love Emily Gravett’s books and her illustrations. The illustrations in this book are brilliant; they are incredibly realistic and clearly depict each type of dog.

Emily Gravett, Dogs (Simon and Schuster, 2009). If you're familiar with Emily Gravett already, you've probably got a good idea of what to expect from this one; it's amusing, cute, vaguely educational, and with a twist at the end, though a much gentler twist than usual (no one gets eaten). Gravett's portraits of dogs (there's a breed key on the inside cover) are adorable. A good one for the toddler in the family I love Emily Gravett’s books and her illustrations. This is a book aimed at young children and it will help them to recognise the different types of dogs and variations in animals.

My little one loves dogs and this book with the illustrations are completely charming. The author/illustrator puts so much detail into every dog that it is wonderful to look at the pictures. Not to mention there is a wide variety of dogs and each one shows something different. If your little one loves dogs this would be an excellent addition to your library! It doesn't have a lot of content and can keep your little ones attention without being overwhelming.

The children I shared this book with really enjoyed it. Not only are the illustrations adorable and appealing, but the text is short enough to share with the youngest child. In addition to being just fun to read, the book can be used to talk about different kinds of dogs, as well as opposites. The twist at the end is amusing. I wasn't sure the kindergartners would get the ending but they did. They were also more than happy to talk about their own experiences with dogs. A fun read-a-loud on a perennially popular topic.

All 3 of my kids LOVE this book. We checked it out at the library first -- but we read it so often and had to keep renewing it over and over again that we finally purchased our own copy. The illustrations are great and the story concept is fun for kids--my five year old especially loves it because of all the "opposites" in the book. Example: I love fast dogs, I love slow dogs, I love shabby dogs, I love chic dogs, etc. So fun to see so many different types of dogs in this book. Great book!

My preschool class of 2 yr olds is addicted to this book. Every day they ask me to read it. Sometimes i have to hide it... lol. Simple words with a lot to look at and talk about.
My daughter is obsessed with dogs and this book is wonderful! Beautiful illustrations and easy for a 2 year old to understand! Fabulous!!! Would also be a great first book for new readers as there aren't many words on each page and it is an easy read.

Love love love this book!
