Members of the Hoof Lane Art Club are excited about the exhibition of their work, except for Pablo, the elephant. His canvas is blank-artist’s block. By lunch time, although he has done his best, he is not satisfied, so he decides to rest for a bit before continuing

Pablo the elephant has a problem. His art club is holding an exhibition, and all he has is an empty canvas. Plagued by artist’s block, Pablo sets out for the country, in hopes of finding fresh ideas. But when he finishes his landscape, Pablo still isn’t satisfied. It may just take the ingenuity of some friendly woodland strangers to help Pablo realize his full artistic potential.

Satoshi Kitamura was born in Tokyo and worked in advertising there before moving to London in 1980. He won the Mother Goose Award for Angry Arthur and he is now one of the most distinguished illustrators in Britain.
