Colin Hawkins is a British author and illustrator. He wrote with his wife Jacqui Hawkins, the popularity of their books in both their native England and elsewhere have made them almost an industry unto themselves. The reason for the couple’s success can be traced to their attitude regarding their craft, and the spirit of fun with which they approach each project. In the mid-1970s, after his first child was born, he and his wife began to assemble ideas for children’s picture books. With Colin’s flair for cartoon drawings and Jacqui’s graphic sense and dogged persistence, they put together a collection of drawings that they collectively titled Witches.

Prolific and talented author, Colin Hawkins, has written another fabulous book.

The first page shows a lady dog in a polka-dot dress, sitting in a comfy chair, sipping a lemon-garnished drink and saying, "It's nice to sit down."
The addition problem at the top of the page is "1 + 1 = ___."
The text asks, "How many dogs do you think live here?"
There is a tab to pull.
When pulled, a male dog appears in the doorway, holding his own drink in a mug, with the solicitous words, "Do your feet ache?" -- and the answer "2" shows up in the equation.

Each following page has the identical format -- brilliantly-drawn animals, an incomplete addition problem, a question, and a pull tab for the sum.
The totals are provided for ten problems.

The colourful cover of this sturdy interactive book is filled with excited Colin-characters, rushing to look inside the book. Your child will be equally as anxious to "Quick look inside!"
