Can a guy and girl ever be just friends? I used to think so but now, I'm not so sure. Emerson and I met freshman year of high school and we've been tight ever since. I've been pretty good about keeping her locked in the girls I don't think about having sex with part of my brain. Guernsey (/ˈɡɜːrnzi/ (listen); Guernésiais: Guernési) is an island in the English Channel off the coast of Normandy. It lies roughly north of Saint-Malo and to the west of Jersey and the Cotentin Peninsula. With several smaller nearby islands, it forms a jurisdiction within the Bailiwick of Guernsey, a British Crown dependency. The jurisdiction is made up of ten parishes on the island of Guernsey, three other inhabited islands (Herm, Jethou and Lihou), and many small islets and rocks.

Guernsey songs were inspired by the sea, by colourful figures of speech, by traditional folk-lore, as well as by the natural environment of the island. The island's greatest poet was George Métivier (1790–1881), a contemporary of Victor Hugo, who influenced and inspired local poets to print and publish their traditional poetry. Like Métivier, Tam Lenfestey (1818–1885) published poetry in Guernsey newspapers and in book form. Denys Corbet (1826–1909) described himself as the Draïn Rimeux (last poet), but literary production continued. Thomas Alfred Grut (1852–1933) published Des lures guernesiaises in 1927, once again a collection of newspaper columns.

With no intention of being tied down, Michael proposes to fiery, free-spirited photographer Maggie Ryan: if she will play the part of his fiancée during her trip to Milan for a photo shoot, he will keep away from her married best friend, Alexa, and stop making Maggie nuts with their too-close-for- comfort flirtations.
