We have 7 or 8 of these books now. Our girls are a little too young to read them themselves yet, but they love the illustrations, stories and physical size. Consistently among the favorite bedtime selections, and one girl keeps trying to take them to school for Show-n-Tell.

The story describes about a year in the critter's lifecycle in a pretty engaging way. The informational aspect is a bit oversimplified, but accurate enough for the target audience.

Note also that most of these books are currently (as of Jan. 2011) eligible for the 4-for-3 promotion.

It's okay but not in as good of condition as I had expected.

A lovely story.

This book follows a mother otter through the process of raising a family. Unlike most "fact books," this book is NOT dry. It is written in story form, with beautiful illustrations. It's worth reading over & over again, and in the process, you & your child will learn about these beautiful & graceful creatures!
