For a long time I was a non-reader due to the ADHD that I didn't know I had until late in life. The Kindle made it possible for me to read and now I am looking for whatever I can get. The Seekers is an awesome book. At first you wonder why the change in characters, but as you move through the story, you understand in no uncertain terms. It is as if you watched an episode on the screen, but had to wait until next week to see what happened.

I have read all two of the Seekers series, and I urge you to finish it if you like the first book. I love how Toklo, Kallik, and Lusa's story all entwine later on, and they have amazing adventures together, drawing them more and more closer to each other. This series and the next after this one almost made me cry several times. This is such an inspiring story about friendship, many times over. I think this is definitely a read worthy of five perfect stars.

My daughter is a polar bear nut and loved the series enough to back out of our agreement to donate the books to her middle school library that only had a partial set.

Every year at Christmas we buy our boys books for their stockings. This year we bought our 9 year old-4 grader-the first book in this series. He likes animals and is especially enchanted with bears, so I figured this was right up his alley. The following is his review.

I like it because it tells you what bear they are,and when the polar bear attack them, and it tell you how much they weigh. That's cool for a test. They give you a lot of information, and teach you about nature and the bears that live in the wild, not just a zoo.

He isn't a huge reader, or perhaps I should say that he doesn't often enjoy reading for fun, but this book held his attention and kept him reading. That is a HUGE plus for my husband and I.

A fast read, pleasurable, from the animal perspective about survival, feelings, questing, loneliness and human interactions. On to book 2. I am hooked. -drai bearwomyn.

At first I was a little hesitant to buy this because I'm not a huge fan of bears. Now cats on the other hand, love 'em. Anyway, this book definitely reminded me of the first Warriors book written in the sense that she was experimenting on how to characterize each bear. I've only read this one book and I found it fairly interesting. I do plan on buying the next one, so I'll have more to review later when I do. Besides, if a book is written by Erin Hunter, it's got to be good :)

my child loves the series
Very well written. The author describes things the way an animal would see it for the first time, never quite saying the name yet describing it in such a way, you would know what she is talking about. You get to know the bears and have a strong sense of who they are and how they feel.
