Hindsight bias clouds judgments in all areas of life, including legal decisions, medical diagnoses, consumer satisfaction, sporting events, and election outcomes. This interest stems from the belief that failure to be surprised by an event prevents us from learning from it, and will likely cause us to judge others unfairly for not having been able to foresee it. But just how bad is it? Although guided by a cold cognitive mechanism that ‘creeps up’ on us, hindsight bias is complex, seemingly strengthened, and yet also reduced by self-serving motives.

I worked with Robert on a feature back in 2013 and seeing his tremendous work in person, I just had to buy the book. Great buy, great price!

Robert Zuckerman is one of the finest photographers out there. He has the talent to see the essense of the people he is making a photograph with. You can see it all in their eyes....

This is a wonderful book! It documents human beings at their best. We could all use some more kindness in the world.

This book is apparently hard to get. I received my copy of this amazing book of photography, ostensibly new, and while paging through it noticed that one photograph in the middle had been carefully cut out. It did not appear to be the work of the publisher. I have ordered a replacement copy, which appears to be hard to get. Quality control, people!

Robert Zuckerman, a highly regarded photographer of Hollywood film and of actors, has turned his attention away from the glittering world of make believe and focused instead on the ordinary. Yet in his eyes, and certainly in his writings that accompany each of the successful photographs in this sensitive collection these random encounters from routine, everyday life on the streets, the work places, cafes, and other niches that go unnoticed as being special, these moments transform from ordinary to become extraordinary.

Perhaps it is the honesty he finds with his camera; perhaps it is the story that grows out of the moment that made him stop to notice a child or adult or group. Richly colorful in presentation and content these 'kindsights' prove that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and with Zuckerman's gift he is able to make us all look again at the miracles around us. This is an uplifting and loving book that should be shared with good friends. Grady Harp, August 05
