He is the author of The Architecture Book and New York: A Physical History. Elliot Willensky (d. 1990) was Vice Chairman of New York City's Landmarks Preservation Commission and the author of When Brooklyn Was the World. Fran Leadon is a registered architect and teaches at the School of Architecture, City College of New York.

Norval Crawford White, American architect. Trustee Brooklyn Institute Arts and Sciences, 1973-1982, Brooklyn Public Library. 1993-1996; governor Brooklyn Museum, 1973-1982, advisory committee, 1982-2006; member New York City Art Commission, 1975-1986, secretary, 1975-1977, vice president, 1978-1980. He designed buildings throughout the United States. but he is best known for his writing, particularly the American Institute of Architects Guide to New York City (with Elliot Willensky). White was widely considered to be one of the great figures of New York architecture.
