Cook's book on buildings is a good introduction to basic drawing tools and materials, with brief demonstrations and tips. This is the first book I've read by David Cook. He reminds me of another great illustrator.

The volume suffers from the smallness of many of the illustrations and the resulting loss of detail. An earlier effort by Michael Woods, The Complete Drawing Course: How You Can Master All the Techniques of Drawing in Just 25 Minutes (Batsford, 1995) is broader in scope and a better value. Frank J. Lohan whose books taught many new and professional artists tips and techniques for rendering any person, place or thing.

David Cook makes it easy to create single and multi-point perspectives. You'll discover a range of useful techniques and textures.
This is the perfect book to jump start your artistic skills without feeling like your just a draftsman. He sure helped my own budding drawing talent.
